Oldies
Here is a list of some old songs from Russian past. I think you will like them.
Pop/Rock
Entertaining and very good Russian pop.
Zveri (Звери)
Very popular Russian pop/rock band.
Julia Savicheva (Юлия Савичева)
Popular Russian pop/rock singer. She was in the semi-finals of Russian Fabrika Zvezd talent show and she represented Russia on Eurovision song contest.
Alsou (Алсу)
Very popular Russian singer of Tatar origin. She was second at 2000 Eurovision song contest and made a duet with Enrique Iglesias.
Glukoza (Глюкозa)
Popular female singer with very nice songs and very good production. My personal favorite pop music and pop singer from Russia.
Uma2rman (Ума2рман)
This band is named after the actress Uma Thurman and it is said that she likes their music.
Punk
Korol i shut (Король и Шут)
Great horror punk band. They remind me of an older band Misfits (from USA). In one video on YouTube you can see the singer wearing Misfits t-shirt so this can't be an accident.
Tarakany! (Тараканы!)
This band sounds like a typical good punk-rock band. If you want to hear how a Russian version of Ramones sounds like check out these songs.
Naiv (Наив)
This band plays real and powerful punk. Try the song and check them out.
Other
This category is used for some crossover bands that mix a lot of different styles.
Lubeh (Любэ)
They combine elements of Western rock and roll, traditional Russian folk music and military bard music. Some songs are distinctly folk, others have a rock flavor to them.
Mihail Kruh (Михаил Круг)
He is a representative of a genre known as Russian chanson. These songs are based on lyrics not so much music. Music is usually slow and decorative to the story in the song.
| :: | Ярославская :: |
| | This song is not a true representative of the genre because it is not so slow and depressive. |
Soundtracks
Music from the movies I watched and liked.
